20 Facts

Let me explain... So I was doing my normal evening routine of browsing pinterest last night for an hour, (let's be honest, it takes a while), and came across this link called "30 things my kids should know about me." This mother wrote a letter of 30 things she wanted her children to know about her in the future. I thought, wow I wish my mother had done that for me! How sweet! The first thing she wrote was 20 random facts about herself. So I started to write 20 random things about myself and realized that I wanted you guys to get to know a little bit more about me, so I'd thought I'd share what I wrote:

1. I have a very hard time writing in modern simple handwriting and feel it looks like that of a 12 year old's handwriting, so I write in cursive.
2. The smell of rain on neglected land reminds of summer storms in Colorado when I used to go visit my grandparents every summer as a kid.
3. I dislike the taste of salmon, but eat it anyway because it's supposed to be healthy or something.
4. If I could live anywhere in the world I would live in Piran Slovenia because it's the most beautiful petite little town I've ever been to.
5. In seventh grade it was "cool" to eat worms, so I ate 3 to prove my cool factor.
6. The summer before freshman year I decided I wanted to graduate high school early, so my mom signed me up for a couple summer school classes. Turns out summer school is actually kind of scary, and I ended up graduating the same time as everyone else.
7. As much as I dislike waking up early, it's my favorite time of the day because it's so peaceful.
8. When I was younger my career dream was to become an oral surgeon and join a group called "Operation Smiles" which is an organization made up of a medical team that travels all over the world operating on children with cleft palettes. It's so wonderful! I guess being a dental assistant is close, eh?
9. I never buy small purses because by the end of the day somehow half of my belongings end up somewhere in my purse. How? I'm not sure.
10. Shopping is the last thing I want to do, unless I absolutely need something.
11. I'll only buy a car that is black, white, or red. Otherwise I feel my outfit would need to match the color of my car. It's a weird thing I have.
12. When I was a kid my step sister Nicole told me that the color yellow reminds her of toenails, and it's stuck with me ever since.
13. I love to cook and bake.
14. Snowboarding has always been one of those sports that I get butterfly's watching. I think it's such a cool sport! I've wanted to master it for so long, but the one time I tried I ended up crashing pretty bad. I guess you need to be balanced? So skiing is my winter sport.
15. Scary movies are my favorite, though anything to do with zombies freaks me out.
16. I was baptized a member of the church at 14, but became a true believer in Christ at 16.
17. Calla Lillie's and Orchids are my favorite flowers
18. Norah Jones music gives me the urge to go to a coffee shop, sip on hot chocolate while reading the morning paper. In Colorado my grandparents owned a coffee shop, and my grandma would play Norah Jones. Ah memories.
19. Big bulky sweaters are my absolute favorite thing to wear of all time mostly because then you can eat as much as you want, and no one will see the food baby underneath.
20. I love wearing hats because then you don't have to do your hair!

There you have it! Here's the link to that site I found this at:

It's really a sweet thing to do for your kids. I'm going to do it for our future family.

For the love

Weddings are wonderful. The blissful stares the bride and groom share, the laughter, the tears, and obviously food. Weddings have amazing food, well, most of the time. Especially when the bride works for Carino's. Then you know it's going to be amazing.
Here's the reason I say this... We went to our family friends wedding last night. One of B's best friends Brock's brother Garrett married his high school sweetheart Lindsay. She and I went to the same high school together, actually. Crazy how small the world is!
They had their wedding at the Boise Train Depot. It was such a sweet ceremony watching all the Hall family walk down the aisle and stand in amongst the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We both kinda giggled to ourselves imagining Brock on his wedding day. Oh what a joyous experience that will be!
The ceremony was beautiful. They both looked stunning and wonderful together. The dinner was divine, though I'm not sure the word divine is the correct description I chose when eating the bacon mac and cheese. Pretty sure I just kept saying, "MMM, MMM, MMM! OH this is SO GOOD!" Over and over like from the movie What About Bob. Also, they had red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. YOU GUYS. It does not get better than bacon mac and cheese topped with a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
The first dances were super cute. She sobbed when dancing with her dad. They chose the same song that my dad and I danced to. I had a good cry about it!
Then we partied all night long and danced our faces off. Such a fun evening with a wonderful family. Garrett and Lindsay will have a wonderfully blessed life together.
Can we get married again?

Switching over

For a long while we have been using word press as our blogging source. It's been quite a stressful website to use because for some reason it won't let me add pictures and blah blah blah. Plus it doesn't have the luxury to be a part of this elite blog spot group. May we join?
Too bad we are anyways.
It's super cool love it. Hi, we're new to the block.
Anyways, it's great to be here.
We're still waiting to hear back from University of North Dakota to see if B got an interview for the PA program. They started reviewing applicants starting literally today. Keep us in your prayers.
As of September 1st my family has been sealed for a year, and next month will be our 1 year anniversary. Cool huh?
The weather in finally starting to cool off. Can't wait for the fall festivities! It's my favorite time of year.
I refuse to post anything about the BSU vs UW game. Such a sad time for Boise. However, we did get to play with the Froggley clan which is definitely something to brag about.
So this labor day weekend would have been way more fun if we weren't dying from illness. Here's one fun story that will make you cringe.
My dad, brother, and B all decided to go out to this fun area out in star that has a rope swing off the side of the road where you can jump into the river. So they all go, have fun, make memories, k great. That night B starts complaining that his back hurts. He got a horrible sunburn, and for those of you who don't know B is allergic to the UVB rays. Luckily he didn't have a reaction that night. Sunday came and went. Labor day arrived and we had planned to run some errands and accomplish things we've neglected. Neither of us were feeling well because we were sick, so B went to go take a shower. When he came out he asked me to put aloe Vera on his back to help with the stinging. I did so, then the next thing I know I hear him yelling my name from the kitchen telling me to get out of the shower. He came and rushed into the shower. He kept yelling out of pain saying the urge to itch his back was so painful. He took a bunch of benedryll orally, and our friend John came over and gave him an injection. It took the edge off but the rest of the day he had to sleep because every time he woke up he couldn't stand the pain from the itch. Crazy day I tell ya.
So far today we both stayed home from work to get over this stupid cold that seems to be hitting everyone like a plague. Probably going to watch how I met your mother all day. Possibly not move ever.
This is going to be fun :)
